'Whoosh!" would appear to be the title of the forthcoming new Purple album. earMUSIC first (kind of) hinted at it with their cyber Christmas card last December ('We whoosh you a Merry Christmas'), and then the latest in the 'Bob and Rog show' video teaser trailers for the new release has Mr Ezrin playing back part of a (largely) spoken atmospheric passage from it, highlighting the moment IG says the word "whoosh!" which Rog then repeats. So far, so unsubstantiated. But now the German 'Rocks' magazine has run a story, apparently confirming the album title (with exclamation mark), as well as 7 (working) song titles they've heard playbacks of (stylistically "in the vein of inFinite"). Titles mentioned are Throw My Bones, No Need to Shout, Nothing At All, The Long Way Round, What the What!, Man Alive and The Power of the Moon .
https://www.rocks-magazin.de/…/rocks-022020heft-nr-75-ab-he…
Maybe the title also references how quickly the album came together (according to IG's recent account) - or is a reminder of Fireball's opening :-)
In the same Bob and Rog vid, they use the phrase 'Very Deep, very Purple' - could have been a good title if Heep hadn't kind of already done that...

What an interesting night! Due to my dad currently being in hospital awaiting an operation, @jcrudess from @dreamtheaterofficial stepped up to the plate here in Mexico and did an amazing job of covering the keys position. I looked after #rogerglover and as such switched from stage left to right. A very different perspective and sound! Show went great. Crowd loved it. Hope to have dad behind the organ in no time! Meant to be heading home but going to nyc to see @brandilukas as I now can’t travel there from U.K. This virus is impacting the music industry hard. Hope to be back out on the road very very soon!

Sweet child
In time you'll see the line
The line that's drawn between
Good and bad
See the blind man Shooting at the world
Bullets flying
Taking toll
If you've been bad
Lord I bet you have
And you've not been hit
By flying lead
You'd better close your eyes
You'd better bow your head
Wait for the ricochet

Re: News

Deep Purple-Bombay Calling: Live In '95 (Limited Edition 3-LP+DVD Set)
Deep Purple-Bombay Calling: Live In '95 (Limited Edition 2-CD+DVD Set)
Expected August 26, 2022
It's available for pre-order now via Meadows
Deep Purple is one of the most influential British rock bands of all time, shaping the Hard Rock scene and inspiring generations of hard rock musicians and fans for over five decades. “Bombay Calling” was recorded in early 1995 and is one of the first shows Deep Purple played with Steve Morse showcasing his virtuosic guitar skills and some of the new material would later make it onto the widely celebrated studio album “Purpendicular”. Astonishingly, the long thought lost master tapes for this unforgettable show in Mumbai were found lying around in an old cardboard box in November 1999. A true gem for any fan, offering a rare insight into the extraordinary talents of this phenomenal rock band. Considering that Steve Morse only had played with Deep Purple a couple of times before, the raw power he lends to the classic songs is remarkable. The Indian press gave the concert rave reviews, with many claiming it to be the best rock show ever staged in India.
